Last night, we attended the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Awards held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

This year marked the 10th anniversary of the Gala & Ceremony of the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Awards, which also honored 45 other Asian Americans from California to New York, representing a variety of Asian ethnic backgrounds, including Chinese, Filipino, Korean, Japanese, Indian and Pakistani. The award recipients represent a microcosm of the elite Asian American business owners, professionals and corporate executives who are engage in a wide range of business interests.

The award committee identifies and selects individuals with outstanding leadership, vision and accomplishments who have built a successful business or who have distinguished themselves in their community. The Pinnacle Award, given to Deven Sharma, President of Standard & Poor’s, is given to a person who has reached the acme of his/her professional career and is widely acknowledged by his/her peers as a leader in the industry.

The Outstanding 50 Awards will cumulatively have honored more than 450 successful Asian American women and men from multiple ethnic backgrounds, representing over 30 industries and professions.
