Pioneering Hong Kong’s Indie Scene

The Fringe Club, for up-and-coming artists and alternative culture in Hong Kong, will host its 12th City Festival starting this week. But unlike in other years, the festival will not be contained within a single month.

Mr. Chia, a veteran of the arts for 30 years, is always on the search for new talent. With regard to Interactive Art we have the luxury to enjoy arts whenever, wherever and however we choose, particulary in the virtual world. Although the virtual world is enjoyable, it will never replace the experience of a live audience!

Food is popular culture. Culinary arts allow an individual freedom and self-expression. Also, gone are the old ideas of the depressed artist of the Van Gogh era. Many artists participate in the scene not for the money but for the love of art and actually hold down full-time jobs to support themselves.
