Ahead of next week’s auction of his personal wine collection Sotheby’s Hong Kong, British composer Andrew Lloyd Webber spoke with The Wall Street Journal about the joys of collecting and the sorrows that will come with parting with his favorite bottles.

Enter Hong Kong. Given its hot wine market — sales at the city’s fine-wine auctions last year surpassed the combined total for New York and London, making it the wine capital of the world — it’s not surprising Mr. Webber has chosen Hong Kong as the place to sell his bottles.
