These popular films — a unique Hong Kong genre for the new-year holiday — have a simple formula: an all-star cast, madcap antics, music and a happy ending.

    If you notice many more pregnant Asian women during 2011, you are not imagining things. Every Asian woman wants a Dragon Child. The year of the Dragon is 2012 — Water Dragon, that is. Therefore, everyone is racing to the altar this year in order to start having children. The much prized “Dragon Baby”

    I find this unique Hong Kong genre to be very similar to British Comedy. It seems like a very familiar recipe to me. Perhaps, a reinvention of the British Comedy?

    A bit like “The Benny Hill Show” of years ago and “Keeping Up Appearances” which is hilarious!
