Who Made the Bed in the Maroon 5 Video?
The Voyager bed makes a cameo in the Maroon 5 video “Never Going to Leave this Bed”. A music video released this weekend by the American band Maroon 5 features lead singer Adam Levine and his girlfriend, model Anne Vyalitsyna, lying down in a series of beds.
But one particular bed steals the show in the “Never Gonna Leave This Bed” video, which was shot around Los Angeles. It is a contemporary-style abacá-and-metal piece of furniture (abacá is a Manila hemp) that was made in the Philippines. Designed by Kenneth Cobonpue, a Filipino designer based in Cebu, it appears in the opening sequence perched on the Santa Monica Pier and in several other shots during the video.
Asked about the bed in the Maroon 5 clip, Mr. Cobonpue said: “Its a voyeur’s fantasy. This bed is a prima donna among all the many I designed and it’s so fitting.” Mr. Cobonpue, who never pays for product placement, found out about his design’s star-turn from a friend who told him about the video and the pop song, which is now climbing the charts.

Love the song Maroon 5! Not only is the bed a Voyeur’s fantasy but it is a Voyager bed that can take you from the Santa Monica Pier to China and back! I love it!!
Some guys are asking me if the girl comes with the bed. Very funny. She is the idealistic blonde that guys love! The living Barbie Doll!
That is quite a compliment to Kenneth Cobonpue, the Filipino designer based in Cebu who is responsible for the bed! The song is a hit, the girl in the video is beautiful, and the video is hot! Yet, everyone notices and wants the bed, including myself! I would love that bed for a summer place. I love interior design, and Kenneth is obviously a very gifted and creative furniture designer.
Call me. Marisa Sung at AsianceMagazine. I want it!!
