MSN China announced an agreement today with Renren, billed as “the leading real name social networking Internet platform in China,” to integrate their social networking platforms.
The move would “offer users a seamless integration of their respective social networking services platforms,” according to the news release, which notes Renren and MSN China will share a range of applications and services across the two platforms, including unified account log-in, content synchronization, and finding and communicating with friends.
MSN China, formally known as Shanghai MSN Network Communications Technology Co., Ltd., is a joint venture formed in 2005 between Microsoft and Shanghai Alliance Investment. It operates a range of online services and software products offered by the Microsoft Online Services Group, including MSN, Windows Live and Bing.
Earlier this week, Microsoft had announced another agreement with a Chinese company, in which Microsoft and China’s leading domestic Linux operating system provider, would together provide cloud services across both Microsoft and Linux platforms.
