Arimura maintains lead in HSBC Women’s Champions

Japan’s Chie Arimura is still in the lead after round three of the HSBC Women’s Champions. The 23-year old carded a one-under 71 for a 205 total, just one stroke ahead of Australia’s Karrie Webb.

Chie Arimura is the unlikely leader in an event boasting some of the best women golfers. Still, the dimunitive Japanese has held her own, holding off the big challenge in her quest for a first win on the LPGA Tour. And she could have had a bigger lead going into Sunday’s final, if not for some missed chances on the back nine.

“I really excited about my round today, but made a little mistake on number 15, 16 and 17. So tomorrow I want more good plays,” said Arimura. She has her work cut-out, as Hall of Famer Karrie Webb’s experience could prove vital in what promises to be an exciting final round.
