On September 9th, the Wonder Girls revealed they had changed their official Twitter username from @followWG to @WonderGirls. The usernames for the five members of the group, as well as JYP himself (@followjyp), have not changed.

Official statements from the account and the official Wonder Girls website called the name change “great news”. Since their new username is the same as their group name, it may help to strengthen the group’s identity and recognition on Twitter as they continue their attempts to make waves in the American music market. With preparations for a TV movie on TeenNick underway and plans for both upcoming Korean and American releases, time will tell if the Wonder Girls’ efforts will pay off.
