Captivating actor Christie Laing will be appearing next in the role of Naomi in the upcoming feature film “Tucker & Dale vs Evil” in theatres September 30, 2011. The feature film stars Tyler Labine (Mad Love, Boston Legal), who recently won a Leo Award for his role in the film, and Alan Tudyk of Transformers fame. The film follows two lovable West Virginian hillbillies, Tucker and Dale who are headed to their “fixer-upper” vacation cabin to drink some beer, do some fishin’, and have a good time. But when they run into a group of preppy college kids who assume from their looks that they must be in-bred, chainsaw wielding killers, Tucker and Dale’s vacation takes a bloody and hilarious turn for the worse. Christie plays Naomi who is the straight shooter of the bunch.

Most recently Christie appeared on Nickelodeon in the Movie of the Week entitled “A Fairly Odd Movie: Grow Up, Timmy Turner”. The film is based on the wildly popular animated series “The Fairly Odd Parents”, and mixes live-action with CGI animation. Her character, Janice, is the assistant to Hugh J. Magnate, played by Steven Weber (Wings, Brothers and Sisters). Also appearing in this MOW are Jason Alexander (Seinfeld), Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm) and Jay Leno. Bringing a cartoon world to life was probably one of Christie’s favorite jobs to date! Christie was amazed by her costume created by Academy Award winner, Angus Strathie.

Two of Christie’s most rewarding television roles are considered a part of history of one of the CW’s biggest hits. They include two separate episodes on the sci-fi series “Supernatural”. In her first episode, entitled “Hook Man”, Christie plays Taylor in the Urban Legend of the Hookman. Her next visit back to the show, she appeared on the episode “Crossroad Blues” where she played the infamous Demon of Robert Johnson. Legend says he sold his soul at the crossroads to become a remarkable guitar player for fame, fortune and women. As a result of both her beauty and talent, Christie is listed on both “The Sexy Women of Supernatural” and “The Beautiful Women of Supernatural” lists.
The other television series that Christie has appeared on include “Smallville”, “The 4400”, “Kyle XY”, “The Assistants” and “Human Target”, to name a few. In her first Nickelodeon project, Christie played Tiffany in “The Boy Who Cried Werewolf “.

Christie grew up in White Rock B.C. and now resides in Vancouver. Her exotic looks come from her father (who is from Belize) and her British mother, a flight attendant and runner up to Miss Richmond. Christie and her two younger sisters Nikki and Paige grew up dancing until she focused on her acting career and changed her priorities. Christie considers herself fortunate to have been coached by some amazing people including Ingrid Torrance, Lee Kilton Smith, Akiko Morrison
