When life gives you lemons, make Pink Lemonade
Carolyn Lim was at the prime of her life when she was struck down by the unimaginable – a bolt of lightning. That split-second left her permanently scarred, both physically and emotionally, as it completely changed life as she knew it.
And even as the contributions of women all over the world get a salute on International Women’s Day, Carolyn still insists, she is no wonder woman. “When people tell me that I’ve done amazing things, I’d respond by saying, it’s not me. I wouldn’t be where I am today if not for my parents’ and William’s (my husband) love and support,” Carolyn says with her first, and only hint of tears, when talking about she’s been through.
The 32-year-old is today, a motivational speaker, educator and author of “Making Pink Lemonade” which details her journey of recovery. In 2006, things were very different. Carolyn had been struck by a bolt of lightning. The freak accident wiped out part of her memory and she remembers none of what happened two weeks before, and six weeks after, the incident. On regaining consciousness from her six-week coma, Carolyn found herself with a face marred by a skewed eye and a drooping right cheek, and a body crippled of fine motor-skills.

This is a remarkable woman! This is the kind of story that inspires people to reach their utmost potential in life!
