Kelly Chen suffers miscarriage, loses twin daughters
Former Hong Kong singer-actress Kelly Chen confirmed Friday that she had suffered a miscarriage in a media statement, reported Hong Kong media. “I have just passed the most difficult week of my life. After trying our best, our two daughters could not live with us in the end. The doctors said there was no special reason for it (the miscarriage).
“I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the doctors, nurses and medical personnel for their care, encouragement and consolation.” “Everybody, please don’t worry. I will rest up and when I am ready, I will meet with everyone. Thank you all for your well-wishes all this time,” said Chen in her statement.
This shocking announcement comes just months after Chen announced that she was pregnant with twin daughters conceived via artificial insemination, during an event at Hong Kong Disneyland in January. The 38-year-old singer-actress married her husband Alex Lau, in October 2008 after dating for 16 years. Their son, Chace Lau, was born in July the following year.
