Matilda Tao blasts Taiwan media bosses in magazine

Veteran Taiwan television host Matilda Tao blasted Taiwan media bosses in a scathing article published in the Taiwan magazine “Yuan Jian” recently, and described them as “people solely motivated by money”, reported Taiwan media. In the article titled “A letter to media bosses”, she pointed out how Taiwan news programmes are becoming dominated by drama serial-like news pieces because they attract ratings, as a sign that some media bosses are simply in it for the money.

Tao also criticised how some media bosses had no idea about the realities of production but insisted on having their way. She revealed that during the production of some Taiwan drama serials, actors would sometimes sit around in the studio, waiting for the big boss to decide on what to do next.

The actors are then required to do things like shoot a dueling scene deep in the mountains in extremely cold weather, just because the boss thought it is a good idea and wanted them to do it. You just have money, you may not know about acting, variety or news [production],” Tao wrote of these media bosses in her article, comparing the Taiwan drama production industry unfavorably with that of China, Japan and Korea.

I suppose Matilda Tao is the Charlie Sheen of Taiwan. Doesn’t like to be told what to do by the media bosses who sit around on the set. I hope she didn’t call the Producer by his REAL name! LOL I just crack myself up!
