Show Luo has a special co-star in his brand-new ad for People

Show Luo has a special co-star in his brand-new ad for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) Asia: a very lucky rescued dog named Bobby. In the ad, which was shot by photographer Lin Wei Cheng, the “Dancing King” crouches next to Bobby and holds a sign that reads, “Adopt Dogs, Don’t Buy!” in an effort to encourage everyone to save the growing number of homeless dogs currently languishing on the streets and in the animal shelters of Taiwan.

“There’s no reason to buy dogs from pet stores when we already have an animal overpopulation crisis here in Taiwan, not to mention in China and the world in general”, said Show in an exclusive PETA interview. “I hope people adopt from shelters or rescue animals from the street. It’s the little things that make a big difference.”

In Taiwan, thousands of unwanted dogs are picked up by local authorities and euthanised every year for lack of a loving home, while many more are left languishing in animal shelters across the country. Sadly, recent reports indicate that more animals than ever are being abandoned, while fewer people are adopting them – so the homeless animal population is quickly rising.

And breeding facilities, pet shops and kennels continue to make the homeless-animal crisis worse. These profit-driven businesses are notorious for offering little comfort and care to the animals they buy and sell, and they continue to produce animals under these cruel conditions even though millions of cats and dogs are already languishing in animal shelters around the world. PETA and Show Luo encourage everyone who has the time, love and resources for a dog or cat to visit an animal shelter and adopt a homeless animal in need.
