Cameron Diaz Thinks Marriage Is Dead

‘Maxim’ asked Cam if she thought marriage was a dying institution. She replied in the affirmative. It’s no secret that Cameron Diaz likes being the fun, blond, single gal. (And unlike Jennifer Aniston, she never seems to get much flack for it.) But what we didn’t know is that Cam thinks marriage is totally dead. Or just dying. Either way, she has major reservations about ever tying the knot, and is in no rush to settle down with her boyfriend, Alex Rodriguez—even though she says things are “awesome.” Cameron Diaz & A-Rod Keep Their Romance Low-Key.

When Maxim asked her if she thought wedded bliss was a dying practice, she said: “I do. I think we have to make our own rules. I don’t think we should live our lives in relationships based off of old traditions that don’t suit our world any longer.” Now, we’re all for making our own decisions, but we’re pretty sure there’s a large group of people who would argue marriage suits our world plenty…

Gettin’ hitched wasn’t the only topic Cameron opened up to the men’s mag about—interviewing her for their Hot 100 issue. While promoting her upcoming comedy, Bad Teacher, where she stars with ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake, Ms. Diaz also confessed what she does to keep her relationship with A-Rod hot and steamy. I hear you! Same here! How many times did you almost marry someone who you would’ve definitely divorced later in life had you gone down the aisle? I thought so, me too! Just thank God that you are not stuck with a clinging vine (not to mention a money vacuum) like so many others are. I know so many unhappily married (mosty men) and women who are members of NASA. No affection, no sex, no admiration! Personally, I would rather live and die alone than to be with a partner who didn’t inspire me and admire me, to say the very least and vice versa.
