Ford China joint venture recalls 6,600 cars

A Ford joint venture in China has launched a recall of nearly 6,600 sedans due to faulty power cords in the air heaters, which could short-circuit, the country’s quality watchdog said on Wednesday.

Changan Ford Mazda Co. is recalling 6,599 Mondeo cars made between February 14 and April 16 this year, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a notice.

Car owners may get vehicle checks and maintenance free of charge at Ford dealerships across the country, AQSIQ said.
