Planking reaches Singapore
Planking – the activity where people lie face down for photographs – has reached Singapore. A local Facebook page for planking, which has already attracted over 700 supporters, saw a surge of over a hundred supporters in just one night. It seems it isn’t just the adults trying out the stunt.
A five-year-old boy claims he is a fan — with his father’s support. His father helps to photograph the pint-sized “planker” and upload his photos onto planking sites. It’s fairly simple to plank — all you have to do is lie face down, legs stretched out and arms at your side. But some plank in dangerous places, leading to serious injuries and even death.
“I found out about this activity in the website, at a Yahoo website. I find it quite interesting, although some might consider it silly. But I hope that people can look into the safety aspect before they try planking,” said Dennis Chung, the father of the 5-year-old “planker”.
