Peter Som, who’s known for bright and quirky prints that his fans love, was decidedly more rigid in the beginning of his Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collection at New York Fashion Week. Blacks, dark browns, and whites dominated. The teals and burgundy reds were a nice mix and added Fall color panache. But it was only when the prints came back midway through the show that we finally saw smidges of the Peter Som we know and love. Nevertheless, clothes were sturdy and crips from the bowled over shoulders to the architectural peplum skirts. It’s obvious Som has a talent, whether in Fall colors, solids, or prints.
