Ms. Nooyi, 55, bought a controlling interest this year in Russia’s largest food and beverage business, Wimm-Bill-Dann. The deal is meant to expand the company’s reach abroad, where it generates 47% of its revenues.
Last year, Pepsi lost its rank as the country’s second-most-popular soft drink to diet Coke. But as Ms. Nooyi continues to shift her company’s offerings toward healthier snacks and beverages, the soda wars may not matter so much anymore.
