Alexander Wang’s Frat Party

With Fashion Week kicking off the Fall season in September, it was a bit like Back to School for the fashion set. One of the highlights of Fashion week was the themed Alexander Wang afterparty held at Pier 40 on the West Side Highway and Clarkson with stunning views of the Hudson River. Host extrodinaire, Wang decided to recreate this raw space into a frat house fashioned with the walls from Tommy Hilfiger’s pop up shop house from the Meatpacking district, with pennants and University pin flags and paraphernalia. Bartenders from Apoteke who normally don lab jackets sported rugby shirts and madras shorts more appropriately found on campus at Dartmouth and Harvard. Beer pong, blow up dolls, bathtubs filled with beer, hot dogs and hamburgers all lent to the atmosphere that was attended by supermodels, hipsters, and other fashionista types who have probably ironically enough, never attended a frat party before.
