Y-3’s 80s Anglophile

Though Yohji is best known for his monochromatic and minimalist collections, this season he threw in some bright color, tartan plaids, and ruffled embellishments. Atuned to street culture, his 80s English punk inspired collection included asymmetrical hemlined coats, pants and tops, sweet ruffled sleeved slouchy tafetta jackets, Chinese inspired Mao jackets, and the usual sharply tailored black and white separates that hone in on his sharp Japanese aesthetic.
