Three Indonesians from one family were among nearly 60 injured in a massacre at a Batman movie screening in the United States, Indonesian Foreign Affairs Minister Marty Natalegawa said.
“Three Indonesian nationals were injured in the incident. It’s a father, a mother and their son,” Natalegawa told reporters in Jakarta capital.
He said that the 15-year-old son and the mother were being treated at a hospital for gunshot wounds while the father suffered only a bruise on his left eye.
At least 12 people were killed and nearly 60 wounded when the gunman, identified as James Holmes, 24, opened fire Friday at a midnight screening of “The Dark Knight Rises” at the Century Aurora 16 multiplex in Aurora, Colorado.
Police said that the gunman who was arrested soon after the massacre bought more than 6,000 rounds of ammunition over the Internet and four weapons at local gunshops in the last two months.
President Barack Obama cut short a campaign trip to Florida and returned to the White House to address the situation, although his spokesman said there appeared to have been no link to terrorism.
