Within a span of 15 minutes, five designers (Choiboko, Cres. E Dim., Kye, Lie Sang Bong and Son Jung Wan) showcased collections that were as diverse as they were compelling.

In its seventh rotation since 2009, government-sponsored New York Fashion Week’s Concept Korea has acted as a Korean design incubator of sorts, helping to propel its hand-selected designers to more prominent global standing, higher sales, and wider industry recognition.

“We prefer to transfer our heritage and history in exciting ways,” said Concept Korea Executive Director Cindy Hahn. “It’s in our DNA.”
