Greenwich Concours d’Elegance

Listed in 1,000 Places to See Before You Die, Greenwich is unique, in that it is actually two concours, back-to-back. Saturday’s Concours Americana is exclusively for American makes, while Sunday’s Concours International is exclusively for imported marques. The Greenwiched based 12-M Yacht Development Foundation will again have a modest display of former America’s Cup 12-Meter yachts moored at the Delamar Hotel. Given good weather, they will engage in match racing during the weekend. Concours visitors will be able to view the yachts up close, and there will also be limited opportunities to sail on them. Classic motorcycles will also be on display.

Young and old will enjoy trying out the display of “Virtual GT” driving simulators in the Automobile Magazine/Motor Trend pavilion. There will be galleries of automotive art and demonstrations, as well as displays of the very latest new cars such as Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, Lexus, Jaguar, Mini, Land Rover, Smart, Bentley, Ferrari, Maserati, Aston Martin, and Bugatti.

In addition, the Greenwich Concours will also be the site of a major auction by Bonhams of significant collectors’ cars and automobilia from the collections of several prominent collectors.
