Tina Tang’s Holiday Style

Dear Tina,
Everywhere I look, it seems being “green” is the new trend. All the magazines are suggesting “green” gifts, and even the morning shows like Today and Good Morning America, keep talking about ways to be green. What are some gift suggestions I can give my friends?
Tatiana

Dear Tatiana,
A green gift would be one your friend could re-use and can easily be recycled. In our stores and online website, we have designed an organic cotton tote that one could use to go grocery shopping or to simply use as a purse. A lot of grocery stores and department stores have started selling these types of cotton totes.

Another great idea is to send a check to American Forests Organization on behalf of your friend. This is one of the oldest environmental organizations in the US. And, every dollar plants a tree with them. So a $20 gift will plant 20 trees!

It’s great you are being so conscious!

Dear Tina,
Metallic was in last year and I haven’t been keeping up with the trends. Can I wear it this holiday season when I go to parties? Or, will I look passé?
Chloe

Dear Chloe,
The great thing about trends (the good ones, that is), is that they stay usually for a couple of years. Metallic is still hot! Pair any of your holiday outfits with a metallic (gold or silver) clutch or metallic shoes. The gold Lauren Merkin clutch featured here is a perfect example of a holiday purse. Just a word of caution about the clutch and shoes: Don’t wear the metallic shoes and purse together – it would be a metal faux pas!

Another great option to going heavy metal is to incorporate it into your dress. The Madison Marcus strapless featured here is the perfect festive and sexy dress to wear your boyfriend’s company party!
Happy Holidays!

With the risk of sounding cliche and of repeating what our moms told us, RED looks fantastic on Asian females!

Oranges, and blues look great too. Gold metallics are also fantastic against the lovely Asian skin 🙂

Hi Tina, I was wondering what are some vibrant and bold colors that Asian females can pull off? What is the best color for our skin tone? Thank You
