AsianinNY.com, New York’s premier online destination for networking in the Asian community and multicultural entertainment, welcomed the year of the Tiger with a celebration of Lunar New Year last night at Bennett Media Studio in the West Village.

Presiding over the entire night’s festivities as MC was Esther Ku, one of the top ten best comedians in NBC’s Stand-up for Diversity Showcase, a Season Six finalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and a featured regular in the Boston International Comedy Festival and the New York Underground Comedy Festival.

Guests at this fete of Asian culture were entertained by Philip Galinsky, a co-creator of the Manhattan Monologue Slam who is regularly seen on Comedy Central, MTV, A&E, ESPN Classic, and USA Networks; rock singer/songwriter Tora Brava, who has toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and North America; and The Hsu-nami, a progressive rock band of international fame which had a song featured during the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing. The event also featured a fashion show sponsored by designer Joyce Huang, introducing her new collection for Lucullen, a high-end fashion brand that has enjoyed worldwide success launching various collections.
