Dr. June Wu and AMT Public Relations host Rosey Chan

Last night, Dr. June Wu (right) and AMT Public Relations hosted classical musician Rosey Chan (middle) in Dr. Wu's Upper West Side apartment. Rosey Chan is at the forefront of the new generation of British classical musicians. Born in the UK of Chinese parents, Rosey exhibited extraordinary talent as a small child and was encouraged by a musical grandmother to learn piano.

Ms. Chan was awarded a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music. After graduation from the RCM, Rosey founded the Yukawa-Chan Duo. The duo were an immediate success and performed internationally in some of the most prestigious venues in the world – Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall and the Royal Festival Hall.

Recently, Rosey has begun focusing on new ways to explore the possibilities of the piano, widening her musical landscape and drawing on influences other than pure classical repertoire such as jazz and contemporary electronic music and performance art. Collaborations with DJ Spooky and Mike Figgis are in the works.
