Nicole Scherzinger and Michael Hake at The Sensei screening
Michael Hake and Nicole Scherzinger of The Pussycat Dolls attended The 24th Annual Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival World Premiere screening of D. Lee Inosanto's The Sensei held at the Directors Guild Of America in West Hollywood, CA. Michael Hake is Nicole's cousin.
The Sensei is about a lonely, bullied gay teen named McClain, who is recovering from a previous suicide attempt after losing his closest friend. Meanwhile, Karen, a woman haunted by the memories of her fiance, boxer Mark Corey, returns home after a five year absence to reconnect with her conservative family, owners of a successful martial arts business. When three teenagers hospitalize McClain after a near fatal beating and are then released on bail, McClains outraged mother asks Karen to secretly teach her son to protect himself. Also at the premiere were Diana Lee, Rex Lee, and Tamlyn Tomita.
