Out with the old in with the new?

First Lady Laura Bush appointed Chef Cristeta Comerford to White House Executive Chef in 2005. Chef Comerford is the first woman and first Filipino chef to be selected for the position. The White House Executive Chef is responsible for the planning, managing and preparing of all menus and meals for the First Family and their private entertaining, and official state functions at the White House. The Executive Chef serves at the First Lady's pleasure and is appointed, or reappointed, by each administration. The former Executive Chef, Walter Scheib, served 11 years and two administrations. Only time will tell the fate of Ms. Comerford but either way she is set for life. Former White House Executive Chefs have moved on to producing and starring in television shows, opening their own restaurants and developing celebrity cookbooks, ultimately earning tons of money.
