Youtube’s Film Competition – Blueberry
To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Sundance Film Festival, they have partnered with YouTube and Moviefone to organize a short film competition called Project Direct. Films must be under 5 minutes and incorporate 3 specific props: A red telephone and the 2 props from a list of 25 Classic Sundance Film Festival Films. Here is a YouTube PROJECT: DIRECT 2009 Short Film Competition Submission starring Randall Park as Bill and Marques Ray as Blueberry. Featured Props: Moviefone's Red Phone, A Beehive Hairdo (as seen in Hairspray), Orange Thong (as seen in The Full Monty). Written by Randall Park. Directed by David J. Lee. Produced by Neil Sehgal. Edited and Photographed by Vincent Tsu. Makeup and Wardrobe by Jae Suh. Sundance will choose 10 finalists and the You Tube community will vote for one winner. The Grand Prize winner will win $2500, have their film posted on the home page of YouTube, and receive a trip for two to the Sundance Film Festival to screen their film in front of an audience and meet with the festival’s Director of Programming. The winner and the two runner-up films will also be compiled on DVDs and distributed to industry guests at the Sundance Film Festival. See one of the films, starring Asian actors below. Good luck!
