This performance is expected to draw much attention since Kim is performing with Michelle Kwan, her skating idol since her childhood. Even though the two skated together last year in an ice show in South Korea, this is the first time that a special gala program was made for the two.
The main theme of the ice show is ‘Dreams of Tomorrow’, telling the stories of the skaters’ dreams and challenges.
The choreographer of the show, David Wilson said “Two years ago, Kristi Yamaguchi, the 1992 Albertville Olympic gold medalist, told me that her current favorite was Yuna Kim. She told me that she sees her life when she watches Yuna. Just as Kim has inspired Kristi, she has also inspired Michelle and many other skaters. Just as Kwan inspired little Yuna in the past, Kim has now become a skater who inspires other skaters, for different reasons.”
It is now known that Michelle will be skating to the following songs at the All That Skate Show in Korea this coming week, thanks to the program list being posted on the official All that Skate site (via the Korean page, not the English one)
In Act One, she will be skating to Annie Lennox’s “Primitive”
And in Act Two she will be skating to Alicia Keys’ “No One”
It was also released earlier last week, that Michelle would be performing a duet with Yuna Kim, to the music of Mariah Carey, her very famous song of “Hero”.
There will be four performances; 8pm on July 23(Fri), 5pm on 24(Sat) and 2pm, 6pm on 25(Sun).
Tickets can be purchased at (www.interpark.com) and at the show’s official homepage(www.allthatskate.com).
