The first Korean Major League Baseball player Park Chan-ho set a milestone, Saturday (KST), by earning his 124th career victory to mark the most wins by an Asian-born pitcher.
The 17-year-veteran of the Pittsburgh Pirates shut out the Florida Marlins for three innings in a 5-1 victory in Pittsburgh to pass Hideo Nomo of Japan’s 123.
“It took time for me to earn my 123rd, and I now have marked 124, which makes a lot of difference. I’m so pleased for that,” Park said via his personal website, chanhopark61.com.
MLB.com quoted Park as saying that “One hundred-and-twenty-four is not great for the Major Leagues, but it’s very special.”
Why couldn’t he do that for the Yankees?
