More Asian girls make the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue – Jessica Gomes & Christine Teigen

Jessica Gomes’ father is from Portugal and her mother is from Singapore of Chinese descent.

Jessica Gomes, 25, fell into modeling at 13 after appearing on Bush Patrol, a television show in her native Australia. That led to her modeling contract and a career that has landed her on the pages of Vogue, Teen Vogue, Glamour and the Victoria’s Secret catalogue as well as campaigns for Adidas, Gap, Motorola and DKNY. Hailing from Perth, this is Jessica’s third appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

Another Asian addition is Thai, Norwegian model, and John Legend’s girlfriend, Christine Teigen.

Sports Illustrated also featured the first South Asian model this year, Sonia Dara. Congrats to Sports Illustrated for featuring more ethnic women AND most of them with meat on their bones!
