Miami head coach Erik Spoelstra is hot! and the NBA’s first Asian American head coach. We’re at the end of a tied 2-2 NBA Finals and it’s down to the Dallas Mavericks and the Miami Heat, whose coach, is making history. Spoelstra’s father is Irish Dutch American, and his mother is a native Filipina.

In April 2008, Spoelstra was named successor to Pat Riley as head coach of the Miami Heat.
