Vermont Named Greenest State In The Nation

Vermont Has Smallest Carbon Footprint In The U.S.

Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas says the state has been recognized once again as the greenest state in the nation. Douglas says a new report by the website 24/7 Wall St. considered energy consumption, pollution problems and state energy policies in evaluating the environmental standing of states. The report found that Vermont, among other measures, releases the fewest cancer causing toxins and has the smallest carbon footprint in the country. Douglas says Vermonters can be proud of the state’s commitment to a healthy environment.

You can feel the difference immediately when you go skiing in Stowe, Sugarbush etc. The air is so invigorating!

My favorite New Year’s Eve vacation ever was with my first fiance in Stowe, Vermont. We stayed at the Von Trapp Family Lodge and it was beautiful!! It is Austrian inspired, of course. They serve amazing Vegetarian Borscht! It is sooo homey and Bob and Delores Hope were frequent guests at this establishment.
