Top 10 Most Popular Male/Female Artistes announced
The list of nominees for the Star Awards Top 10 Most Popular Male/Female Artistes was unveiled during a press lunch at the Four Seasons Hotel Singapore on Thursday. Fan favourites like Singapore actor Dai Yang Tian, Elvin Ng, Joanne Peh, Rui En and actress Jeanette Aw, all managed to earn a place on the nomination list.
While Ng, Peh, Aw and Rui En were also nominated in other categories at this year’s Star Awards, this is Dai’s only nomination so far, a fact that has sparked speculation that his star has dimmed. However, the “Breakout” leading man shrugged it off and saw it as a sign that “everyone is good to me”.
“When other people don’t get nominated for awards, it is okay. But when I am not nominated, people take notice and point out that this is my only nomination,” explained Yang. “Actually, I think it is natural that I am not nominated for some awards.
