Late Korean actress Jung Da-bin ‘wed’ Moon Jae Sung, a man who died in 2002, on Sunday, reported Korean media. Jung, who starred in hit Korean dramas like “Attic Cat” and “My 19-year-old Sister-in-Law”, took her own life four years ago at the age of 26, after suffering from depression.
The bizarre ‘spiritual wedding’ was conducted after the parents of the deceased agreed to let them marry. Jeong’s mother expressed that they do in order to console their spirits, who had yet to taste marital bliss. “My son-in-law Moon Jae Sung is a very caring person. Our two families have known each other for some time. “Although they (the deceased) did not know each other, we have gotten together to console them as they left this world unmarried,” explained Jung’s mother.
According to the priest who presided over the ‘spiritual wedding’, Moon, who was born in 1975, was a morally upright man. Moon, an economics major in university, eventually died from an unknown medical condition. The couple will be buried together at Ansung city in Gyeonggi province, South Korea.
