A national Realtors organization has launched a Houston chapter that aims to increase Asian homeownership in the Bayou City.

Founded in 2003, the Asian Real Estate Association of America has 14,000 members in 37 chapters across the United States and Canada. The national group held a kick-off event for its newest Houston chapter on April 2 at the Asia Society Texas Center. More than 150 Realtors and public officials from the city, state and federal levels representing Houston were in attendance.
