Rapper MIA has reportedly ended her relationship with her fiance after living apart for some time.

The Sri Lankan origin, whose real name is Mathangi Arulpragasam, spends most of her time in the UK while Benjamin, the father of her three-year-old son Ikhyd Edgar Arular Bronfman, lives in New York.

The singer, best known in India for her collaboration with A R Rahman in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, met her partner in New York in 2008 and in 2009, the New York Daily News reported.

MIA, 36, is hardly in New York and Ben’s mother, Sherry Bronfman, is helping to take care of Ikhyd.

The singer reportedly ‘sometimes goes six weeks without seeing’ her family.

The singer is currently at the center of a storm after she flipped her middle finger while performing at the Super Bowl on Sunday with Madonna.

The obscene gesture forced the NBC network to apologize to viewers but the incident apparently left Madonna ‘fuming’.
